A middle-aged philosophy teacher Nathalie (act. Isabelle Huppert) hears from her husband that he's leaving her after 25 years of marriage. At the same time her mother dies in the care home and her publisher informs her about the decision to discontinue the series of philosophy textbooks she used to edit.
